This is the first time this has happened, but it looks like Michele might have actually been right – I seem to have picked a fight with Nature. Since Monday the weather has been absolute crap, with inches of rain and near- (but not quite!) freezing temperatures. It drizzled steadily all today, but then the clouds separated a little before sunset to let all the heat escape into the ionosphere. Walking home from work just now, my breath streamed out behind me in twin plumes from my nostrils, hanging in the air long enough for me to look back and see the trail, like a double steam engine. It is bitterly cold.
A couple months ago Kelly’s dad bagged an elk out on the peninsula, and Dude was kind enough to donate a frozen hunk of it to Kelly. She’s cooking the last of it up for me tonight so that I can add another entry to my List of Animals I’ve Eaten. You’ve met your match, buffalo.
One more thing – hover your mouse over the random image to the right there. Do it! Oh! Oh! Sweet, huh? I don’t know why, but lately I’ve regained interest in my site’s backend, and you people get to reap the sweet fruits of my labor.
